What I liked

- Moodle - liked, neat program, versatile, easy to use, works smoothly
- Moodle can be used to create a whole course
- Moodle a great way to teach teachers about online possibilities
- Moodle gives students more control over learning - a sense of control
- Good modelling of Atris demo system
- Great to see getting a domain name and web host is so easy and straight forward
- Workshop very well prepared

Challenges

- Couldn't keep up when trying to write notes

Bright Ideas

- Need to find easiest way to duplicate courses

What I liked

- Writing HTML great for students - demystifies HTML
- CSS have an exciting potential
- Blog templates are excellent
- A really positive outcome for students
- An appetiser for IT courses
- Outstandingly useful

Challenges

- Need to pay attention to detail when writing HTML tags
- Setting up document for firstweb page not clear
- CSS intro a bit fast - provided background knowledge / overview only
- Blog templates a bit confusing

Bright Ideas

- Printouts of how HTML tags will look when displayed
- Screen dumps
- Save HTML examples as an HTML file to be practiced on later
- Emphasise inportance of refreshing the "reviewing" page

We have started having sessions on Tuesday afternoons for people who want to practice or who can't make it to the main sessions.

- Pace good
- Student/teacher ratio good & important
- Innovative approach to training
- Welcome great
- Tool mystery out (sic)
- Liked notes
- Notes reinforced by blog
- Made it very easy
- Course very well planned & organised
- Storing images is great - getting easier
- Good to practice adding images
- Good demo on how to create a jpg file
- Team blog - great
- Embeds other computer skills
- Feedback works well
- Catering fine

Challenges

- Gaps in computer knowledge e.g. not knowing how to use multiple windows

Bright Ideas

- Post computer skills inventory
- Demonstrate on a model blog how formatting helps
- Post sample text for exercises
- More time to practice

- Good pace
- Good amount covered
- Technical dificulties gave opportunity to anticipate and cope with hitches
- Can see lots of uses
- Clear notes
- Ripway file host easy to use

Challenges

- Technical hitches - computer/network problems

Bright Ideas

- Shut down browser and log-on from scratch for each exercise to reinforce learning
- Email yourself and flag follow-up to remember to log-on to Ripway to keep account active
