At this stage (= well aware that my knowledge is pretty basic!) I think I would really like to use blogging as different means to communicate with students.

I think blogging offers students a chance to communicate with me and each other differently. This would be helpful especially for those students who feel uncomfortable about speaking in class (eg. their written English may be better than their oral; they may feel shy about raising things in class etc.).

I can also see that blogging would require a lot of re-writing of my teaching resources to accommodate this type of learning. Although I can see a time when this will be more the norm that f2f teaching!

Hi All,

I've got heaps of ideas for using blogs. For a long time I've wanted to be able to put up student profiles of a class so that students can get to know each other's strengths and get beyond stereotypes. MAybe put up a list of talents without a name and get the students to guess.

I'd also like to be able to use them for giving positive feedback to each other on their communication skills.

Could be good to do a course evaluation as well.
